General FAQs

Bidhelp.co.uk is the brainchild of Stuart Reed, a hugely experienced freelance bid writer who wants to make bid-related support available to EVERYONE who needs it. Whether you’re a one man operation or a multinational corporation looking for ideas, we can help!

Bidhelp.co.uk allows companies to obtain support for any aspect of bids and tenders in bite-sized chunks – essentially buying both the time and experience of the consultant. You choose what support you need and what questions you want us to answer – this means your time is well spent obtaining targeted assistance on specific aspects of the bidding process.

If you're unsure, drop us a line via the Contact Us form on the website and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. If you need urgent assistance based on bid deadlines or other factors, please tell us this and we will do everything we can to expedite your request.

Any business looking to improve their bid and tender submissions, from small start-ups to larger organizations, can benefit from our services. We cater to both experienced bid writers and those new to the tendering process

Services and Offerings

Some common topics raised by our customers include:

  • Are we ready to begin tendering?
  • Where do we find suitable tenders for our company?
  • Should we bid for this tender or not?
  • How should we respond to this question?
  • How do I get past my writer’s block?
  • Why are we not winning bids?
  • What are the marking panel going to be looking for?

Topics on which we cannot offer advice include the following:

  • How to price tenders – this is for clients to decide
  • Legal aspects of tendering
  • Discussion around technical data or drawings (e.g. architectural or construction drawings)

Of course!! In addition to the short sessions offered through Bidhelp.co.uk, we can also offer a range of more comprehensive bid related services through our sister company, Courtney Tender Services. These include:

  • Full bid reviews
  • Full bid/tender writing, editing and management
  • Full compliance checks
  • Company bid strategy development
  • Tailored bid training sessions

Each service can be selected individually or combined based on your needs.

We can also signpost you to other providers for technical advice on specific topics such as procurement law experts and Net Zero consultancies among others.

Yes! The short sessions offered through Bidhelp.co.uk are ideal for offering this kind of targeted support. Whether you need help with creating a single section of a bid or a final review, we can assist you with specific parts of the process.

Process and Delivery

It’s easy – you can simply book sessions straight away. To discuss your needs further, simply send us a message through the Contact Us form on the website, including as much detail as you can.

We try to make sessions available every day, but sometimes this is not possible and sometimes all the appointments may be taken on the day that you need it if booking at short notice. If you can’t see a suitable appointment based on your needs then let us know via the Contact Us form on  the website and we will look for an alternative for you. Our aim is to support everyone who needs us and we will do so wherever possible.

Pricing and Payment

Our services are priced based on the length of the session booked, meaning that you only pay for what you need. We offer transparent pricing with no hidden fees. You can view our pricing structure on the website or request a custom quote for more complex needs.

Please note that all prices are subject to VAT at the applicable rate.

Yes, we offer package deals and discounts for clients who require multiple services. Please ask for pricing on multiple or ongoing sessions.

We accept all major credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and PayPal. Payment is usually required upfront for one-off services, but flexible payment options are available for larger or ongoing projects.

Expertise and Confidentiality

You will be speaking with a hugely experienced bid professional with decades of expertise and knowledge in the field of bids and tenders.

We take confidentiality very seriously. All our staff adhere to strict confidentiality agreements, and we have secure data handling processes in place to protect your sensitive information. Please see our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your information and your rights in this regard.

We have experience across a wide range of sectors, including construction, IT, healthcare, professional services, and more. If you're unsure, feel free to reach out, and we can discuss our relevant experience in your sector. If for any reason we don’t feel as though we are best placed to help you, we will be open and transparent about this.

Getting Started

Simply create your account, decide on the length of session you need, find a suitable time via our calendar function and make your payment. If you are unsure regarding what you need then we can advise – please just ask for help via the Contact Us form.

We would suggest that you prepare for the session by going through several steps including:

  • Use a laptop, tablet or desktop PC for the session. While Microsoft Teams (on which we hold consultation sessions) has great functionality across a range of devices, our experience is that sometimes reading and sharing documents can be more difficult on mobile phones.
  • Have any relevant documents ready and open on your device of choice. This saves time searching while the session is ongoing.
  • Prepare any specific questions regarding the key elements of support needed. Again, this means that you are more likely to get the exact advice and guidance that you need.
  • Have a few additional bid-related questions ready, over and above those related to the core reason for which you have booked the session. This means that it is more likely that you will use the whole of your booked time, as we cannot provide refunds for any unused time (e.g. if a ½ hour booking ends after 20 minutes, we cannot refund the remaining 10 minutes.)
  • If possible, please let us have any feedback via the Contact Us form after your appointment. We are always open to constructive feedback on how we can improve the services on offer or expand services to better meet your needs.

Absolutely. Whether you need a second pair of eyes, are experiencing writers block or ‘tender fatigue’ (yes it’s real!!) or just need to talk something through, we can step in at any stage of the bid or tender process.

While we strive to improve your chances of success, we cannot guarantee that our assistance will win you any particular tender or bid process. If ANY individual or company ever guarantees this to you, be VERY sceptical as there is simply no way they can make that promise!! A free piece of advice is to always, always, always ask for detailed feedback from the tendering authority regarding unsuccessful bids to allow for continuous improvement mechanisms to be implemented within your bid responses.
